A1: No, this device uses the Zigbee 3.0 protocol for better stability. You must have a Tuya Zigbee Hub to connect it to your smartphone and use the smart features.
Q2: Will it make my non-smart bulb dimmable?
A2: This adapter provides On/Off control and scheduling. It does not add dimming functionality to a standard non-dimmable bulb. To dim, you would need a dedicated smart bulb or a smart dimmer module.
Q3: Can I fit this into a tight lamp shade or a narrow fixture?
A3: The adapter adds about 4-5cm of height to your bulb setup. Please check the clearance of your lampshade or fixture to ensure there is enough room for both the adapter and the bulb.
Q4: Does it remember its state after a power outage?
A4: Yes, you can configure the "Relay Status" in the Tuya App to "On," "Off," or "Remember Last Status" so the light behaves exactly how you want when the power returns.
Q5: Is it safe to use with high-wattage old-fashioned bulbs?
A5: We recommend using LED or CFL bulbs (up to 100W). For traditional incandescent bulbs, please do not exceed 60W to prevent heat buildup within the adapter.
